Can I Earn $5000 Per Month Freelancing? How?
Yes, you can earn five-thousand dollars per month one dollar at a time. Now while it may seem impossible to make it happen, it's actually quite simple if you break it down into smaller pieces.
I operate on a batch system of 10 hours at $85/hour. For me to earn five-thousand dollars, I need to sell about six batches (sixty hours) per month. This could be six different clients but usually, it ends up being two or three. Three years into freelancing full-time and I’m now averaging between twelve and thirteen batches per month. Most of these batches are from clients that have committed to a monthly number of hours. I also have a mindset where every hour counts. All paid work contributes to my 128-hour monthly goal so I treat every client and every project with the same focus and care.
If you want to earn five-thousand dollars per month, map out how many clients it will take. Once you know the map, list the number of activities you’ll need to accomplish to get a single client. For example, it may take fifteen meetings to get one client. So, if you want four clients, you need to meet with sixty people. Once you generally figure out these conversions it now comes down to having the discipline to execute the plan. At this point, it becomes a numbers game.
Many times freelancers don't think to map out their activity this way, but part of what makes freelancers successful is to think of themselves as a business of one. Having a business mindset for our freelancing work allows us to take it to the highest level of success.
